Protecting the scholarly record
Corrections, expressions of concern and retractions.
Corrections
Errors that do not invalidate the main findings should be addressed through a dated correction linked in both directions with the original article. Changes to authorship, material data or interpretation must not be made silently. Readers should be able to identify what changed and why.
Concern and retraction
While serious concerns remain unresolved, an expression of concern may explain the uncertainty. Unreliable findings or serious publication breaches may warrant a retraction explaining the grounds and who issued it. The article and notice should remain linked and clearly marked rather than disappear from the record, except where legal or privacy obligations require restricted access.
Post-publication discussion
Readers may submit evidence-based comments to the editorial office. Criticism is assessed for substantive relevance and civility; authors may be invited to respond. Corrections are not used to suppress valid disagreement. No corrections or retractions are asserted for the inaugural issue in this package.
Editorial framework prepared for formal adoption. See the transparency page for confirmed operating information.
